Promo campaigns

A promo code is a discount with a name on it — you know exactly who used it, where they came from, and what it earned.

Promo campaigns in the Dots app are code-based offers: the customer enters a code at checkout and gets the discount, gift, or free delivery attached to it. Each code carries its own rules — value, usage limits, expiry date, minimum order — and every redemption is logged against the order and the customer.

Codes make marketing measurable

A blanket discount tells you nothing about where the customer came from. A code does: print BACK10 on marketplace inserts, give bloggers their personal codes, send LUNCH15 to office buildings nearby — and the redemption report shows which channel actually produced orders and revenue. That's the difference between "we did some marketing" and knowing your cost per acquired customer to the cent.

Codes are also the standard weapon for two high-value jobs: winning back lapsed customers ("we miss you — here's 20% until Sunday", with an expiry that creates urgency) and pulling marketplace customers into your own channel, where their next ten orders cost you 0% commission instead of 30%. The full migration playbook is in moving delivery-app customers to your own channel — promo codes are step one.

How it works in the Dots app

You create a campaign in the admin panel: set the code, the reward (percent, fixed amount, gift item, free delivery), validity dates, total and per-customer usage limits, and a minimum order value if needed. The customer enters the code in the cart; the app validates it instantly and applies the reward before payment.

The analytics side closes the loop: redemptions, orders, and revenue per campaign, down to individual customers. Pair a code with a push campaign and the offer reaches every app user in minutes; pair it with printed QR cards in delivery bags and you can finally measure what those inserts return.

Who gets the most out of it

  • Brands running win-back campaigns on customers who haven't ordered in 30+ days.
  • Operators migrating volume from marketplaces — a code in the bag beats paying 30% forever.
  • Anyone buying ads or influencer posts who wants channel-level proof of what worked.
